Unity of Greater Lansing is a vibrant spiritual community where people come to share, grow and awaken their inner power, creativity, love and purpose through a very positive practice of fellowship and celebration.
| We're a diverse, welcoming and joyous group that accepts and supports everyone's spiritual journey. Unity is a place where people are allowed to challenge the conventional dogma and doctrine. We provide a place to question, contemplate, explore, discover and create-- from the power of Spirit already within each person. |
Our next Membership Orientation Class
is scheduled for Sunday, March 1st, immediately following our morning service.
|
To become a Unity family member requires completing the New Members Orientation. Orientation sessions are offered three times a year on a Sunday afternoon, right after the Sunday morning service. The purpose of this orientation is to explain to you what we believe, to share with you the vision of our Unity ministry, and how you can become a part of creating it. After completion of this short one-hour session, you'll make a choice about whether Unity is right for you. (Membership is not required to attend Unity or to participate in its activities!)
|
If you decide you'd like to join us, you'll complete a membership request card. Then, the following Sunday morning--in our celebration service--you'll be recognized as a new member of Unity! You'll receive a beautiful certificate, a Unity pin and the blessing of Reverend Kent, our Board of Trustees and our congregation. Your picture will be taken and posted, so that everyone may meet and greet you as a new member!
We encourage families to join together! Any family member under 17 may join as a "junior" member. Junior members receive everything a regular member does, but they may not vote in our Annual Business meetings. Please let us include all the members of your family--we'll receive and bless all of you together! |
Being a Unity member demonstrates a high personal commitment, not only to your own spiritual growth but to the well-being of your spiritual family. Membership makes the statement that you know who you are (a radiant child of a loving God) and that you're prepared to make a difference in the world around you! In Unity, we take membershp seriously because we know that "no one rises to low expectations." We want to foster spiritual maturity and personal excellence in each other.
Don't worry...we also make being a member lots of fun! You'll be infinitely blessed by saying "Yes!" to making Unity of Greater Lansing your spiritual home.
